Purses

Purses

Hi everyone! Today I thought I would write about purses. Purses are great for carrying around everything you need and add a touch of style to any outfit. Before I begin telling you what purse fits what occasion, here are the types of purses.

Shoulder Bag~
A shoulder bag is one that you slide on your shoulder, and walk around like that with it. They are usually more rectangular, but can be any shape at all. There can be long straps or short straps.

Clutch~
A clutch is a purse without straps. Its like a fancy wallet really, only providing room for a few essentials, like a phone and some extra cash. These are great for fancier events.

Hobo Bag~
A hobo bag is like a laid back version of a shoulder back. Its usually  a little more round, and has more rounded straps.

Satchel Bag~
A satchel bag is very trim looking. It has one long strap, and one short. It can be transformed into a crossbody or shoulder bag anytime.

Messenger Bag~
Messenger bags can be rectangle, square, oval, etc. These are a crossbody, and usually stop at the hip or lower. They are great for paperwork and things in that outline.

Crossbody~
A crossbody has a long strap that's usually adjustable and comes to your hip and lower. It can be any shape, and is usually small to big. There are many, many styles.

Backpack Purse~
I actually forgot to include that in the picture, but a backpack purse is one of my favorites. Its like a miniature backpack, except with a little bit more style! They often have a lot of zippers and compartments. They come in a lot of styles.

So, now that you know the styles, I can tell you when and where each purse is the most useful and comes in handy.

Shoulder Bag~
A shoulder bag can be used in many areas, but I think they are great for a day in the city. But, like I said before, they can be used anywhere.

Clutch~
A clutch is a type of purse that you have to pick and choose when to wear it. They are a great finishing touch to a church outfit or an outfit to a fancy occasion. They aren't so great when you have to go somewhere and need to carry more than the essentials.

Hobo Bag~
A hobo bag is great and like the Shoulder Bag, can be used in practically any scenario because it can be dressed up or down. Just make sure that if you go somewhere fancier with one, that it doesn't make your outfit look slouchy. Maybe it should be one of your more casual bags.

Satchel Bag~
A satchel bag is great of fancier occasions, like a day out or maybe church.

Messenger Bag~
A messenger bag is your go-to bag if your in school. It helps carry things and keeps them organized. They aren't really your best choice if your going shopping or out for the day, because they can be uncomfortable after awhile if your not careful.

Crossbody~
A crossbody is one of the most versatile bags that I know of. The crossbody in the picture can be worn with a peachy dress, or some shorts and a peasant blouse. The possibilities are endless, just make sure the color scheme matches your bag.

Backpack Purse~
A backpack purse can be used in fancier events, but I don't suggest that. For something fancier, try something a little more chic. A backpack purse is great for things like camp, picnics, and other nature-oriented events. Its even good for the movies!

No matter what purse you choose, make sure that your purse matches your outfit. A good match is a black clutch with grey dress pants, a blue and black vest, a white blouse, and black shoes. A bad match is a brown hobo looking bag with a hot pink dress. Also, make sure it fits the occasion and its not to much to carry. If you go on a field trip or something like that, make sure that you don't mind carrying your bag. I have about 5 different bags that I use the most often. Two are shoulder, two are backpack, and one is a crossbody. I have more than 5 purses though. So, maybe you should try to have one of each, because they each come in handy at some point.

I hope I helped you with your purse selection!

Ta-ta!
